Global Action Plan
Global Action Plan is the practical environmental charity that helps people to make positive changes at home, at work, at school and in the wider community. By working together, we make the small changes that have a big impact on the things that matter.

It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the scale of today's environmental problems and wonder what difference you can make on your own. That's why Global Action Plan have developed a range of programmes, tools and advice to make it a little easier.

Ask the Desker...

How's work going?
Work is going really well - GAP is expanding and we now have 4 staff members at the BDS offices. From this office we oversee the national programmes GAP runs and operate school (Action at School) and community projects (EcoTeams)

Why did you decide to take space at BDS?
The flexibility of the space is invaluable for a small organisation where numbers of staff fluctuate. It's fantastically central - great as it's 10 minutes from the train station. A lot of our staff are out of the office a lot, so having other freelancers around makes it a really nice, sociable space. However, everyone is very sensitive to people working so there's plenty of quiet time for concentration.

How do you take your tea?
Camomile or peppermint usually - no milk!

If you weren't doing what you are doing, what would you do?
I'd be a South Downs Park Ranger

If you were alone at BDS and could play a song really loud, what would it be?
Coxboy Junkies - Blue Moon

What might we be surprised to know about you?
I was an archaeologist for 10 years

Ideal meal for two in Brighton?
Terra Terre of course - anything on the menu!

What do you like to read when you're not working?
Trashy forensic thrillers

In five year's time, I hope to be...?
Retired!

How do you find the location of BDS?
Ideal - great for train station, shops, good food, beach etc etc

Couldn't work without...?
The office dog

What is your experience of BDS?
Fantastic - great bunch of people - it's lovely to be surrounded by people who have nothing to do with your work but often chip in with advice and support.
